Army captures LTTE's last town Puthukudirippu
Media Center for National Security (MCNS) announced this morning that the main junction in LTTE-held last town Puthukudirippu was captured amidst days of fierce fighting.
Army 53 and 58 divisions led the battle capturing Puthukudirippu.
Meanwhile the troops of Gajaba regiment recovered an underground bunker located close to Puthukudirippu town. This bunker is believed used by Banu, a senior LTTE leader. Defence Ministry says that Banu has retreated to the second forward defence line of LTTE amidst attacks of the Army.
