Two aerial bombs weighing 2100 kilos recovered

Army 57 division troops recovered two aerial bombs weighing 2100 kilos made by LTTE from Udayarkattu village in Mullaithivu. Army says that the two rocket shaped 10 feet tall bombs could do massive damage like flattening Pettah if they were dropped in Colombo. Army has recovered another massive cache of LTTE arms and ammunition. With latest findings, it is now proved that LTTE had its own missile technology also. Photos display the LTTE's arms cache.

Sri Lanka cricket team that faced a terrorist attack in Pakistan yesterday (03) arrived in the home country today (04) early morning in a special flight arranged by Sri Lanka. The Sports Minister Gamini Lokuge that went to take them, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Rohitha Bogollagama that came from Nepal to Pakistan and the President Mahinda Rajapakse who cut short the Nepal tour arrived in Sri Lanka in the same flight. On arrival, addressing media Sri Lanka cricket captain Mahela Jayawardhana said, "First, the wheels of our bus were shot. As they shot at the bus, we crawled under the seats. The driver was shot next but the target missed. He drove the bus forward. Later, we came to know that 12 persons surrounded the bus and fired at it. They fired a rocket as well but it did not hit the target." Mahela thanked Mehar Mohammed Kaleel, the driver of the bus, for rescuing their lives. "We are indebted to his great courage," he said. Army captures LTTE's last town Puthukudirippu

Media Center for National Security (MCNS) announced this morning that the main junction in LTTE-held last town Puthukudirippu was captured amidst days of fierce fighting. Army 53 and 58 divisions led the battle capturing Puthukudirippu. Meanwhile the troops of Gajaba regiment recovered an underground bunker located close to Puthukudirippu town. This bunker is believed used by Banu, a senior LTTE leader. Defence Ministry says that Banu has retreated to the second forward defence line of LTTE amidst attacks of the Army. Gunmen shot at Sri Lanka cricket team at Lahore; six players injured

Six policemen and two civilians killed A group of unidentified gunmen shot at the Sri Lanka cricket team that was embarking from a bus into Gadaffi Grounds in Lahore, for the second test. Thilan Samaraweera and assistant coach Paul Farbrace were admitted into hospital with gunshot injuries. Kumar Sangakkara, Chaminda Vaas, Ajantha Mendis & Tharanga Paranavithana sustained minor injuries and they were discharged from hospital after treatments. Agency reports say that six police officers and two civilians were killed in shooting. Lahore Police chief Habib-ur-Rehman said and five people were killed in the attack by the dozen of unidentified gunmen, who fired AK 47s and rockets and hurled grenades as the team bus drove to the 60,000-seater Gaddafi stadium in the eastern city. Sri Lankan soldiers of Army 58 Division have made a startling discovery exposing an abominable conspiracy against Sri Lankan citizens. The soldiers have found several recent photographs and video footage in a building earlier occupied by the LTTE terrorists showing certain South Indian politicians in LTTE camps in Wanni.
