Joe Budden – Escape Route 2009-FTD


After essentially getting run out of Def Jam after the label refused to release his sophomore album, Joe Budden has kept up a furious pace for Amalgam Digital, releasing a mixtape (2008’s Halfway House), his sophomore album, Padded Room early in 2009, and now Escape Route, a web-only album that serves as the third portion of a four-part saga that concludes with The Great Escape, which is due out sometime in late 2009. Joe says the four-part opus serves as his metaphorical breakout from the mediocrity of other rappers, which, coupled with his work in the hip-hop Voltron of Slaugherhouse, isn’t necessarily that outlandish. Escape Route features choice guest spots from the likes of Wale, his Slaughterhouse compadres Royce Da 5′9″, Crooked I and Joell Ortiz, and Young Chris. 9th Wonder, Streetrunner, Chad West and J. Cardim man the boards.
